    Job Overview

    The Free State Department of Health is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Operational Manager Nursing: PNB3 – Maternity and Neonatal Nursing to join Botshabelo District Hospital.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating specialised maternity and neonatal nursing services, managing staff and resources, ensuring quality patient care and maintaining compliance with professional nursing standards, legislation and departmental policies.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must have:

    • Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
    • A Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification allowing registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
    • A post-basic nursing qualification of at least 1 year, accredited by SANC, in the relevant specialty.
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
    • At least 9 years’ appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
    • Current SANC registration for 2026/2027.
    • At least 5 years of the required experience must be appropriate/recognisable experience in the relevant specialty, particularly Advanced Midwifery, with specific experience in Labour Ward and Postnatal Wards, obtained after completing the 1-year post-basic specialty qualification.
    • Computer literacy.
