Job Overview:
Orchard Agri (Pty) Ltd is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Technical Sales Representative (Chemical) to join its growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the wholesale sales of agricultural chemicals to regional distributors, agricultural co-operatives, and retail resellers, while offering technical product support and agronomic expertise to both channel partners and end-users. This role combines strategic sales execution with field-based advisory work, requiring a balance of technical know-how and commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Account Management

Develop and manage a portfolio of distributors, agri co-ops, and resellers.

Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets aligned with company objectives.

Implement strategic sales initiatives to increase market share.

Present professional sales proposals, pricing models, and promotional packages.

2. Technical Support & Product Advisory

Offer agronomic and technical support to distribution partners and farmers.

Conduct on-site farm visits, product demonstrations, and training workshops.

Provide recommendations based on pest/disease cycles, soil conditions, and crop types.

3. Customer Relationship Management

Build strong, long-term relationships with buyers, agronomists, and decision-makers.

Identify new business opportunities through referrals, market trends, and networking.

Ensure customer satisfaction through continuous follow-up and support.

4. Reporting & Market Intelligence

Maintain up-to-date records of all sales activities and client interactions using CRM tools.

Submit regular feedback reports on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.

Represent Orchard Agri at trade shows, field days, and product launch events.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
-
Minimum 3 years of experience in agricultural sales, agro-inputs, or a related field.

Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Plant Science, Agronomy, or a related discipline.

Strong knowledge of crop protection products and their field application.

Experience in B2B relationship management, particularly with agri co-operatives and distributors.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
