Position Overview
The Shop Assistant / Cashier is responsible for delivering service excellence through efficient customer service, accurate point-of-sale (POS) operations, and effective merchandising.
The role ensures customers have a positive shopping experience while supporting store sales, operational efficiency, and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Point of Sale (POS) Operations
Execute all POS activities accurately and efficiently
Scan merchandise and process payments correctly
Handle ClubCard rewards and enroll new members
Ensure safe and secure cash handling at all times
Sales & Promotions
Promote the Clicks ClubCard to customers
Inform customers about promotions and special offers
Contribute to achieving sales and participation targets
Customer Service
Deliver friendly, professional, and visible customer service
Act as a brand ambassador
Ensure customers “feel good and pay less”
Merchandising & Housekeeping
Maintain store merchandising and visual display standards
Perform housekeeping duties
Keep up to date with products, promotions, and events
Knowledge Requirements
Basic maths calculations
Retail/FMCG background (advantageous)
Understanding of merchandising and promotion principles
Knowledge of stock management procedures
Customer service excellence principles
