Position Overview
The Shop Assistant / Cashier is responsible for delivering service excellence through efficient point-of-sale (POS) operations, customer service, and merchandising activities.
The role focuses on creating a positive shopping experience while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency in-store. This position supports the company’s vision of being the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer.
Key Responsibilities
Point of Sale (POS) Operations
Execute all POS activities accurately and efficiently
Scan merchandise correctly and collect payments
Process ClubCard rewards and enrol new members
Ensure safe handling of cash at all times
Sales & Promotions
Proactively promote the Clicks ClubCard
Inform customers about promotions and special offers
Support store sales targets
Customer Service
Deliver superior, friendly, and professional customer service
Act as a brand ambassador
Ensure customers “feel good and pay less”
Merchandising & Housekeeping
Maintain merchandising and visual display standards
Execute general housekeeping duties
Maintain up-to-date product and promotion knowledge
Knowledge Requirements
Basic maths calculations
Retail/FMCG background (advantageous)
Understanding of merchandising and promotional principles
Knowledge of stock management procedures
Customer service excellence principles
