Position Overview
The Pharmacist is responsible for delivering high standards of pharmaceutical care and professional dispensary services in line with Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) regulations.
The role also includes responsibilities related to stock control, financial management, staff supervision, and ensuring the operational efficiency of the pharmacy. The Pharmacist plays a key role in ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance, and customer service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Pharmaceutical Services
Provide high standards of pharmaceutical care
Deliver pharmacy-initiated therapy and professional advice
Ensure accurate, safe, and compliant dispensing of medication
Provide professional patient counselling
Stock & Dispensary Management
Manage scheduled substances and dispensary stock control
Ensure efficient dispensary administration
Maintain high housekeeping and merchandise display standards
Financial & Operational Management
Support financial management and operational viability
Ensure cost control and effective stock management
Assist with resource planning and operational support
Staff & Training
Train and develop Pharmacist Assistants and Interns
Provide tutorship and coaching
Support staff management and teamwork initiatives
Additional Duties
Perform ad hoc duties to support pharmacy operations
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)
Completed Internship
Completed Community Service
Skills & Knowledge Required
Registration and compliance knowledge (SAPC regulations)
Strong legal and regulatory understanding
Customer service orientation
Professional counselling skills
Ethical working practice and integrity
