Introduction
Vector Logistics seeks a skilled Refrigeration Technician to maintain and repair industrial and transport refrigeration systems within the company’s cold chain operations. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and proactive in ensuring operational reliability.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration equipment in warehouses and vehicles.
Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration system faults to ensure minimal downtime.
Perform preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and emergency repairs.
Test mechanical and electrical components for performance and safety.
Charge, leak-test, and commission refrigerant systems (ammonia and transport).
Keep accurate maintenance and compliance records, including refrigerant logs.
Guide and support junior technicians or assistants as required.
Ensure all work adheres to SHEQ, safety, and legal standards.
Manage spare parts requisitions and stock levels for uninterrupted operations.
Required Qualifications
Matric (Grade 12).
Recognised apprenticeship in industrial refrigeration.
Registered Authorised Refrigeration Practitioner (Category B) – Ammonia & Transport Refrigeration.
Experience
3+ years in industrial or truck refrigeration maintenance and fault finding.
Strong understanding of refrigeration codes, standards, and safety protocols.
Skilled in fault diagnosis, system testing, and preventive maintenance.
Valid Code EB (08) driver’s licence.
Skills
Equipment maintenance & troubleshooting.

Compliance with SHEQ and safety procedures.
Record keeping and documentation accuracy.
