Job Overview
The Head of Department (HOD) will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Department of Economic Development, Small Business, Tourism and Economic Affairs (DESTEA) in the Free State Province. The role requires strong executive management and governance, with responsibility for delivering economic development, small business support, tourism growth, environmental management, and regulatory services.
The HOD will act as the Accounting Officer in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and ensure compliance with all legislative, financial, and governance frameworks. The role requires an experienced senior manager capable of leading large teams, managing performance, overseeing budgets, and implementing government policies and strategic priorities.

Minimum 10 years senior managerial experience
