Summary:
This is a senior nursing management position responsible for overseeing Primary Health Care (PHC) services in the Mangaung Metro District. The Assistant Manager ensures PHC re-engineering, quality improvement, compliance to Ideal Clinic standards, and monitoring of district health programs. The role requires extensive PHC experience, strong leadership, and the ability to oversee both clinical and non-clinical performance indicators across multiple facilities.
Minimum Requirements:

Diploma/Degree in Nursing (SANC-registered Professional Nurse)

1-year post-basic qualification in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment & Care (PHC)
-
10 years nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse
-
6 years post-qualification experience in PHC (after obtaining the PHC post-basic)

3 years management experience

Valid driver’s licence

Ability to travel extensively and work under pressure

Strong leadership, communication, and data analysis skills

Key Responsibilities
-
Support the re-engineering and strengthening of Primary Health Care systems
-
Oversee Ideal Clinic Realisation and Maintenance (ICRM) compliance across facilities
-
Monitor performance of priority health programs based on APP and AOP targets
-
Manage and provide oversight of PHC program implementation
-
Work with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure quality clinical service delivery
-
Conduct quality improvement audits, surveys, and assessments
-
Provide expert advice on quality care across the district
-
Produce monthly performance reports for senior management
-
Monitor both clinical and non-clinical standards regularly
-
Represent the district at provincial forums on Quality, Finance, and Key Priority Programs
