Job Overview:
The Department is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Director: Strategic Planning to develop, maintain, and facilitate the successful implementation of strategic planning policies and frameworks. This role involves leading strategic planning workshops, improving departmental capacity on planning matters, and ensuring alignment with national and provincial strategies and Treasury regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
-
Appropriate NQF Level 7 qualification or equivalent
-
3 to 4 years’ relevant post-qualification experience
-
Valid driver’s license (except persons with disabilities)

Knowledge of Public Service legal framework
-
Familiarity with national and provincial planning policies, Treasury regulations, and strategic planning processes
Key Responsibilities:
-
Develop, maintain, and facilitate implementation of the Department’s strategic planning policy and strategy
-
Lead and facilitate strategic planning workshops for development and review of 5-Year Strategic Plans, Annual Performance Plans, and Operational Plans

Improve the Department’s capacity in strategic and operational planning

Facilitate implementation of the Departmental Strategic and Annual Performance Plans

Represent the Department at national and provincial strategic and operational planning meetings

Manage resources to ensure achievement of component objectives
