    Role and Responsibilities of Officer Local Controlling

    The Officer Local Controlling (Generation) is responsible for controlling the power station’s electrical distribution system, ensuring that station loading and operational requirements meet the National Control standards. Below are the core responsibilities associated with this role:

    1. Electrical System Management

    • Overseeing and managing the power station’s electrical reticulation system.
    • Monitoring and controlling the station loading and electrical requirements.

    Minimum Requirements for the Position

    To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

    1. Educational Qualifications

    • Grade 12/N3 with Mathematics and Science
    • NQF 4 National Certificate in Electrical Network Control

    2. Work Experience

    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in operating an electrical desk in a power generation environment.

    3. Required Certifications and Authorizations

    • PSR (Plant Safety Regulations) certification
    • ORHVS (Operating Regulations for High Voltage Systems) authorization
    • Must be authorized to establish a local control center.
