Tender Overview
South African National Parks (SANParks) invites qualified and experienced service providers to submit quotations for the maintenance of cooling, refrigeration, and freezing equipment at Golden Gate Highlands National Park. The successful bidder will provide routine maintenance, repairs, and replacement of parts to ensure all refrigeration equipment operates efficiently throughout the three-year contract period.
Tender Objective
The objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to:
- Maintain refrigeration, cooling, and freezing equipment.
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Replace faulty or worn components when required.
- Improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
- Ensure refrigeration systems operate safely and efficiently.
Scope of Work
The successful service provider will be responsible for:
Preventative Maintenance
- Conduct quarterly servicing of all refrigeration and cooling equipment.
- Inspect equipment for faults and wear.
- Perform preventative maintenance to extend equipment lifespan.
Repairs and Parts Replacement
- Repair faulty refrigeration and cooling systems.
- Replace defective parts using manufacturer-approved components.
- Ensure equipment is restored to full operational condition.

Maintenance will include, but is not limited to:
- Walk-in freezers
- Refrigerators
- Chest freezers
- Cool rooms
- Bar fridges
- Chalet refrigerators
- Pantry coolers
- Side-by-side refrigerators
- Other refrigeration and cooling equipment listed in the tender specifications
Equipment includes brands such as:
- Defy
- Mora
- KIC
- Hisense
- Other approved brands installed within the park
Technical Requirements
The successful bidder must:
- Service all listed refrigeration equipment on a quarterly basis.
- Replace components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Provide pricing for maintenance, replacement parts, and delivery where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable refrigeration and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
Interested bidders must demonstrate:
- Proven experience in maintaining commercial refrigeration and cooling equipment.
- Reference letters confirming similar work completed successfully.
- Qualified refrigeration technicians with valid Trade Test Certificates.
- Registration with the South African Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (SARACCA).
- Compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- CIDB registration of at least Grade 1 ME (Mechanical Engineering) or higher.
- Valid tax compliance status.
