Tender Overview
The Department of Public Works invites qualified service providers to submit quotations for the supply of diesel fuel and refuelling of a generator located at its Bloemfontein offices. The project also includes providing a diesel bowser, carrying out any necessary unplanned maintenance related to the generator’s fuel system, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Tender Objective
The objective of this RFQ is to appoint a service provider to:
- Refill the generator with diesel to restore operational readiness.
- Supply and position a diesel bowser on site.
- Perform any required maintenance related to the generator’s fuel system.
- Ensure safe fuel handling and compliance with applicable regulations.
Scope of Work
The successful bidder will be responsible for:
Diesel Supply
- Supply approximately 1,500 litres of diesel for the generator.
- Ensure the fuel meets the required quality standards.
Diesel Bowser
- Supply a 1,000-litre, 12V, 40L/min diesel bowser.
- The bowser must be equipped with:
- Fire extinguisher
- Fuel filter
- Fill the bowser with diesel and leave it on site after delivery.
Generator Maintenance
- Carry out any necessary unplanned maintenance related to the generator’s fuel system.
- Ensure the generator is ready for safe and reliable operation.
Site Compliance
- Conduct site visits where required.
- Comply with all Department of Public Works specifications and safety requirements.
- Adhere to security and access protocols.
Technical Requirements
The successful bidder must:
- Supply the specified quantity of diesel.
- Provide approved fuel storage and dispensing equipment.
- Comply with SABS standards and Department of Public Works specifications.
- Use qualified personnel where electrical, mechanical, or plumbing work is required.
- Maintain proper documentation, including:
- Proof of purchase
- Safety certificates
- Compliance documentation
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and dispensing of diesel fuel.
Minimum Requirements
Interested bidders should demonstrate:
- Experience in diesel fuel supply and generator refuelling services.
- Ability to provide diesel bowsers and associated equipment.
- Compliance with Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) licensing requirements.
- Knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
