Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes through lectures, tutorials, and practical classes
Coordinate and lecture nursing modules
Provide clinical and skills development supervision
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
Contribute to curriculum development
Conduct and publish research in accredited journals
Present research at national and/or international conferences
Engage with departmental research focus areas and seek external research funding
Qualifications:
Lecturer (Entry Level)
PhD in Nursing (NQF Level 10) OR Master’s in Nursing (NQF Level 9) with commitment to complete PhD within 5 years
Professional Bachelor’s in Nursing (NQF Level 8)
Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse (General, Psychiatry, Community) and Midwife/Accoucheur
Additional qualifications in Nursing Education and either Occupational Health Nursing or Peri-operative Nursing (registered with SANC)
Proven clinical experience after basic training
Demonstrated research potential and academic record
Senior Lecturer (Advanced Level)
PhD in Nursing (NQF Level 10)
Professional Bachelor’s in Nursing (NQF Level 8)
Same SANC registrations and additional qualifications as above
Proven experience in teaching, research, conference presentations, and postgraduate supervision
Recognized nationally for specialist expertise
Demonstrated potential for NRF rating
