     Job Overview

    This position forms part of the New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP), aimed at developing emerging scholars in South Africa. The successful candidate will be appointed permanently at UFS while also participating in structured academic development under nGAP guidelines.

    The role focuses on teaching, research, postgraduate supervision, curriculum development, and academic administration in:

    • Public/Municipal Financial Management

    • Supply Chain Management

    • Logistics

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Teaching & Learning

    • Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students.

    • Deliver modules in public/municipal financial management, supply chain management, and logistics.

    • Provide postgraduate study leadership.

    Research & Academic Development

    • Present research papers at national and/or international conferences.

    • Engage in scholarly research aligned with the specialisation fields.

    • Contribute to curriculum development within the department and faculty.

    Administration

    • Perform academic administration related to learning, teaching, research, and assessments.

    • Participate in departmental and faculty activities.

    • Perform general university-level administrative duties.

     Inherent Requirements

    • Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in Public Administration and Management, passed with a minimum of 70% (academic record required).

    • Registered PhD candidate OR clear intention to register within the first year of appointment, with research focus aligned to:

      • Public/Municipal Financial Management

      • Supply Chain Management

      • Logistics

     Recommendations

    • PhD (NQF Level 10) in Public Administration and Management.

    • Strong knowledge of the South African public administration and public sector environment.

    • Expertise in public/municipal financial management, supply chain management, and logistics.
