    Job Description

    The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking a Human Resource Clerk: Human Resource Management to provide administrative support across key human resource functions.

    The successful candidate will assist with recruitment and selection, conditions of service, performance management and the resolution of HR administration enquiries. The role requires a candidate with strong administrative, computer and communication skills, as well as an understanding of Public Service human resource processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Implement human resource administration practices relating to recruitment and selection.
    • Implement and administer conditions of service, including:
      • Leave.
      • Housing.
      • Medical benefits.
      • Injury on Duty.
      • Long Service Recognition.
      • Overtime.
      • Relocation.
      • Pension.
      • Allowances.
      • PILIR and related matters.
    • Facilitate the performance management function.
    • Address and respond to human resource administration enquiries.
    • Capture and maintain HR-related information and data.
    • Perform relevant registry and records administration duties.
    • Assist with the storage and retrieval of HR records and information.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
    • No previous experience is required.
    • Knowledge of PERSAL.
    • Knowledge of HR information management systems.
    • Knowledge of registry duties and practices.
    • Ability to capture data and operate computer systems.
    • Working knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
    • Knowledge of storage and retrieval procedures within the working environment.
    • Understanding of registry work and processes.
