Job Purpose
The Sales Manager is responsible for executing the national sales strategy within the club by providing leadership, coaching, planning, and support to the sales team. The role focuses on achieving membership growth, revenue targets, team development, customer retention, and creating a high-performance sales culture.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Performance and Revenue Growth
- Drive achievement of club sales and revenue targets.
- Increase net member growth and membership sales.
- Translate national sales strategies into club-specific action plans.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance.
- Implement corrective actions to address performance gaps.
- Report on key sales metrics and business performance.
Activity and Performance Management
- Manage sales pipelines, leads, appointments, and conversions.
- Ensure Sales Consultants achieve defined KPIs.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
- Monitor sales activities and productivity levels.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the club’s catchment area.
Coaching, Training and Development
- Coach and mentor Sales Consultants to improve performance.
- Implement structured sales training programmes.
- Promote best-practice sales techniques and customer engagement.
- Ensure training is effectively applied in daily operations.
- Develop team capability and execution excellence.
Recruitment and Talent Management
- Recruit, select, and onboard Sales Consultants.
- Build a talent pipeline for future growth.
- Develop succession plans within the sales team.
- Improve retention of high-performing sales employees.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
Leadership and Culture
- Build a disciplined and accountable sales culture.
- Promote professionalism and execution excellence.

Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric)
Experience
- 3–4 years’ experience in sales or a related role.
- 1–2 years’ experience managing a sales team.
- Proven experience in developing and retaining successful sales teams.
- Experience managing sales pipelines and conversion processes.
