Job Description
This role involves quality testing and control of raw materials and oil by-products, mainly focusing on soya oil cake and related products.
You will ensure that:
- Products meet quality and safety standards
- Testing is done accurately and consistently
- Results are recorded and reported correctly
- Production processes remain compliant with company and legal standards
In simple terms: you help ensure the quality and safety of food production materials.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Testing & Quality Control
- Test soya oil cake and by-products
- Ensure samples meet required specifications
- Conduct daily testing of raw materials and final products
2. Sampling & Analysis
- Collect samples according to standards
- Perform tests as per company procedures
- Ensure accurate measurement and analysis
3. Record Keeping & Reporting
- Maintain accurate test results and logs
- Report any deviations or quality issues
- Ensure proper documentation of all testing activities
4. Quality & Compliance
- Follow quality control policies
- Comply with food safety regulations
- Ensure standards are met to avoid financial losses
5. Equipment & Laboratory Maintenance
- Keep lab and equipment clean and organised
- Ensure equipment is functioning properly
- Report faults or issues
6. Communication & Teamwork
- Liaise with internal departments
- Share findings and issues with management
- Work as part of a production quality team
7. Training & Development
- Complete all required training
- Follow instructions from supervisors
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric / NQF Level 4)
- Tertiary qualification is an advantage
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar quality control / testing role is essential
