    Job Description

    The Supply Chain Clerk Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating supply chain management operations within the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI). The role focuses on ensuring the effective management of procurement support, logistics, inventory, fleet administration, facilities maintenance, and asset management while ensuring compliance with government policies, supply chain regulations, and information security standards.

    The successful candidate will oversee the management of physical resources, supervise staff, monitor inventory and logistical processes, coordinate fleet inspections, maintain government facilities, implement Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) standards, and ensure the proper utilization of financial, human, and physical resources.

    Key Responsibilities

    Supply Chain Management

    • Monitor supply chain management processes.
    • Ensure compliance with supply chain policies and procedures.
    • Support procurement and logistics operations.
    • Monitor supply chain performance and operational efficiency.

    Logistics & Asset Management

    • Conduct provisioning and logistical needs analyses.
    • Identify shortages of movable and immovable assets.
    • Manage the distribution of physical resources.
    • Monitor and control inventory management processes.
    • Maintain accurate asset and inventory records.

    Fleet Administration

    • Coordinate government vehicle fleet administration.
    • Arrange vehicle inspections.
    • Monitor fleet utilization and maintenance.
    • Ensure fleet records are maintained accurately.

    Facilities Management

    • Manage the day-to-day maintenance of buildings and premises.
    • Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
    • Ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and compliant.

    Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

    • Implement Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) standards.
    • Promote compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
    • Monitor adherence to safety procedures.

    Information Security

    • Ensure compliance with the Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS).
    • Apply information security policies and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with the Protection of Information Act.
    • Safeguard sensitive information and government assets.

    Resource Management

    • Supervise staff within the Supply Chain Management section.
    • Manage allocated human resources effectively.
    • Oversee financial and physical resource utilization.
    • Monitor staff performance and productivity.
    • Ensure efficient use of departmental resources.

    Minimum Requirements

    Educational Requirements

    • Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or
    • National Certificate (Vocational) recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) at NQF Level 4.

    Experience Requirements

    • Minimum 4 years’ appropriate and relevant experience in the supply chain management field.

    Language Requirements

    • Proficiency in at least two official South African languages, one of which must be English.

    Citizenship & Security Requirements

    • South African citizenship.
    • Documentary proof of citizenship must be provided during the interview.
    • No previous criminal convictions.
    • No pending criminal or departmental cases.
    • Successful completion of security vetting and fingerprint verification.
