Job Description
The Wellness Advisor will provide exceptional customer service by offering knowledgeable assistance and basic advice on healthcare, nutrition, sports nutrition, vitamins and supplementation products. The successful candidate will use their product knowledge to understand customer needs, recommend suitable products and drive wellness sales while building strong customer relationships and loyalty.
The role also involves maintaining stock availability, supporting merchandising activities, preventing stock losses and wastage, and ensuring that high standards of hygiene and store operations are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service through visibility and proactive engagement with customers.
- Identify customer needs using knowledge of healthcare, nutrition and supplements.
- Consult with customers and recommend suitable healthcare, nutritional and supplement products.
- Drive healthcare sales in line with store and company targets.
- Promote a broad range of brands through cross-selling and upselling.
- Maintain stock availability in healthcare aisles.
- Follow stock management principles and procedures.
- Prevent wastage through correct stock rotation.
- Minimise stock losses by following risk-management policies and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Assist with product merchandising in accordance with company guidelines.
- Follow all store standard operating procedures.
- Develop personal product knowledge and skills continuously.
- Share product information with relief staff to ensure continuity of service.
- Build positive customer relationships and encourage customer loyalty.
Requirements
Education
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Minimum 40% in Pure Mathematics or 50% in Mathematical Literacy.
- Minimum 50% in English.
- A qualification in Sports, Fitness or Nutrition will be advantageous.
Experience
- At least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Experience working with sports nutrition and vitamin-related products.
- Experience in selling and customer-related training.
Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of health, fitness and supplements.
- Basic understanding of retail store operations.
- Knowledge of stock management, merchandising and risk-management principles.
