Job Description
The Wellness Assistant will provide exceptional customer service by offering knowledgeable assistance and basic advice on healthcare, nutrition, sports nutrition, vitamins and supplementation products. The successful candidate will help drive wellness-related sales, maintain stock availability, support merchandising activities and ensure a clean, safe and appealing shopping environment.
The role requires a customer-focused individual with good product knowledge, strong selling skills and the ability to build customer loyalty through professional and helpful service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service and proactively identify customer needs.
- Offer customers suitable advice on healthcare, nutritional and supplement products.
- Use product knowledge to assist customers with wellness and supplementation choices.
- Drive healthcare and wellness sales in line with targets.
- Promote a broad range of brands through cross-selling and upselling.
- Maintain stock availability in healthcare aisles.
- Follow stock management and stock rotation procedures.
- Minimise wastage by ensuring correct stock rotation.
- Prevent stock losses by following risk-management policies.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the store.
- Assist with product merchandising according to company guidelines.
- Follow all store standard operating procedures.
- Continuously develop product knowledge and personal skills.
- Share product information with relief staff to ensure continuity of service.
- Build positive relationships with customers and encourage customer loyalty.
Requirements
Education
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Minimum 50% in Pure Mathematics or 60% in Mathematical Literacy.
- Minimum 50% in English.
- Pass in Life Science or Physical Science.
- A qualification in Sports, Fitness or Nutrition will be advantageous.
Experience
- At least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Experience working with sports nutrition and vitamin-related products.
- Customer-related training and selling experience.
Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of health, fitness and supplements.
- Basic knowledge of retail store operations.
- Understanding of stock management, merchandising and risk-management principles.
