    WEB DESIGNER

    Company Overview:


    The Free State Provincial Treasury plays a crucial role in managing provincial finances, promoting transparency, and enabling service delivery across government departments. The department values innovation and efficiency, and as part of its digital transformation, it is enhancing its online presence and user interface. It now seeks a creative and technically skilled Web Designer to contribute to its digital footprint and public communication efforts.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and maintain the department’s official website

    • Create graphic and multimedia content for both digital platforms and printed marketing materials

    • Plan and implement IT security protocols to prevent unauthorized access or data breaches on web platforms

    • Maintain and administer the web server, operating tools, and relevant software

    • Stay informed about new web technologies and contribute to the development of web-related policies and strategies

    • Provide training and guidance to IT staff and departmental users on utilizing web tools to enhance service efficiency

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant NQF Level 6 or higher qualification in Information Technology

    • Certification in one or more of the following:

      • C+, C++, PHP, MVC, CSS, Java, HTML, or XML

    • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an IT/web development environment

    • Proficiency in technologies and tools such as:

      • ASP.NET, VB.NET, SQL Server 2005

      • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash

    Skills:

    • Strong web and graphic design skills

    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and reporting abilities

    • Effective communication and presentation skills

    • High level of computer literacy

    Benefits:

    • Salary: R325,101 per annum (Level 07) – basic salary

    • Eligibility for public service benefits including pension, housing and medical assistance (as per government guidelines)
