LAN/WAN PRACTITIONER

Job Title: LAN/WAN Practitioner

Responsibilities:

Design and implement effective network layouts to facilitate user access and minimize congestion
-
Ensure robust network security across systems
-
Configure and install ICT critical systems
-
Monitor network availability and maintain performance of key systems
-
Assist with management and support of the Data Centre and systems hosting critical departmental information
-
Monitor for and prevent viruses and other cybersecurity threats
-
Support management of telecom services to ensure consistent access and performance
-
Participate in the development and enhancement of ICT policies
Qualifications:
-
Relevant NQF Level 6 or higher qualification in Information Technology
-
Professional certification in A+, N+, or CCNA
-
Minimum of three (3) years experience in an information technology environment
-
Knowledge of:
-
ISO/IEC 27002
-
ITIL Framework
-
Treasury Regulations
-
Database Management
-
Departmental IT policies and governance frameworks
-
Skills:
-
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
-
Effective communication, reporting, and presentation skills

High level of computer literacy

Salary: R325,101 per annum (Level 07) – basic salary
