    STATE ACCOUNTANT REF NO: SA/2025

    Job Title: State Accountant
    Company: Free State Department of Agriculture and Rural Development
    Location: Glen, Free State
    Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
    Salary: R325,101 per annum (Level 07)

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform general financial accounting duties within the department

    • Handle processes related to revenue, debt, and banking transactions

    • Ensure proper bookkeeping and ledger management using LOGIS, BAS, and PERSAL systems

    • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of financial controls and compliance

    • Prepare reconciliations, financial reports, and audits

    • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to promote sound financial governance

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum NQF Level 6 qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

    • At least 2–3 years of relevant financial experience preferred

    • Experience with government financial systems (LOGIS, BAS, PERSAL) is an added advantage
