Job Description
The Social Worker Grade 1 will provide social work services focused on the care, support, protection and development of vulnerable individuals, groups, families and communities. The position will also involve supporting social auxiliary workers and volunteers, keeping up to date with developments in the social work field and completing required administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Render social work services relating to the care, support, protection and development of vulnerable individuals, groups, families and communities.
- Implement relevant social work programmes.
- Attend to matters that could result in, or stem from, social instability in any form.
- Provide support to Social Auxiliary Workers and volunteers.
- Keep up to date with developments in the social work and social welfare fields.
- Perform all administrative functions required for the position.
- Work towards providing effective and efficient social work services.
- Social Workers Grade 4 will be expected to mentor and coach Social Workers Grade 1 to support effective and efficient service delivery.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate.
- Appropriate Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (NQF Level 7) recognised by SAQA.
- Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
- Valid driver’s licence.
