    The South African Post Office Limited (SAPO) is a state-owned enterprise mandated to provide postal and logistical services throughout the Republic of South Africa.     SAPO plays a crucial role in bridging the communication gap, ensuring accessibility and affordability of services to citizens, and facilitating economic development through efficient distribution and transportation systems. As part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing service delivery and maintaining operational efficiency, SAPO is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced service providers for Line-haul Transportation services across the country.

    This tender forms part of SAPO’s strategic initiative to modernize and optimize its national logistics infrastructure. The selected service provider(s) will play a central role in ensuring the timely and secure transportation of mail and parcels between major postal hubs and regional facilities.

    Responsibilities:

    The appointed service provider(s) will be expected to:

    • Provide scheduled and on-demand line-haul transportation services between SAPO’s national and regional facilities.

    • Ensure vehicles used are roadworthy, secure, and suitable for transporting mail and parcels.

    • Comply with all applicable transportation laws, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

    • Maintain detailed records of trips, vehicle maintenance, and tracking information.

    • Uphold strict adherence to delivery timelines to ensure consistent and reliable service to SAPO customers.

    • Support SAPO in achieving cost efficiency and operational excellence through innovative transport solutions.

    Qualifications:

    Eligible bidders should meet the following criteria:

    • Proven experience in line-haul or long-distance transport and logistics services, preferably for public sector or large commercial clients.

    • Demonstrable capacity and infrastructure to operate across all nine provinces listed in the tender scope.

    • Valid operating licenses and full compliance with transport and labor regulations.

    • Financial and operational stability to sustain large-scale service delivery.

    • Strong references from previous clients confirming service quality and reliability.
