Role Overview
The Salesperson will drive sales growth and customer satisfaction at the Scotty’s Midas branch. The primary purpose is to sell automotive parts and spares, achieve sales targets, and maintain excellent relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers, delivering professional and confident service.
- Achieve sales targets set by the Sales/Branch/Retail Manager.
- Manage counter sales and maximize customer potential.
- Plan, forecast, and report on sales opportunities by customer.
- Monitor and report on competitor pricing and activities.
- Provide quotations, product, and service information.
- Support other departments (Accounts, Dispatch, Warehousing, Receiving, Technical) for smooth operations.
- Cold call potential clients when necessary to grow the customer base.
- Strengthen customer relationships and ensure repeat business.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in automotive/spares/motor/engine sales – essential
- Technical knowledge – desirable
- Proven track record of sales success
- In-depth product knowledge
- Business acumen: understanding costs and break-even scenarios
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge of the local geographical area
- Planning, time management, and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, honest, and demonstrates integrity
- Clear criminal record
