    Purpose of the Role

    The Sales Representative is responsible for growing the company’s customer base and increasing sales revenue within the Free State region. This includes identifying new business opportunities, maintaining relationships with existing customers, driving sales growth, managing customer accounts, and ensuring timely collection of payments. The role serves customers ranging from spaza shops and forecourts to wholesalers.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Business Development

    • Identify and recruit new customers within the assigned territory.
    • Achieve monthly and quarterly customer acquisition targets.
    • Develop and implement strategies to expand market share.
    • Identify sales opportunities and convert prospects into active customers.

    Customer Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
    • Conduct regular customer visits and follow-ups.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Address customer concerns and resolve complaints promptly.

    Sales and Revenue Growth

    • Achieve sales volume and gross margin targets.
    • Promote and sell existing and new product lines.
    • Generate repeat business from existing customers.
    • Monitor market trends and competitor activities.

    Credit and Debtor Management

    • Manage customer accounts effectively.
    • Ensure debtor days remain within company targets.
    • Follow up on outstanding payments.
    • Work closely with customers to maintain healthy credit accounts.

    Reporting and Administration

    • Record customer interactions and sales activities.
    • Maintain accurate customer information in CRM systems.
    • Submit regular sales reports and market feedback.
    • Monitor campaign performance and provide feedback to management.

    Marketing and Promotions

    • Implement company marketing initiatives.
    • Promote special offers and promotional campaigns.
    • Track the effectiveness of promotional activities.
    • Assist with product launches and customer awareness campaigns.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • At least 5 years of FMCG sales experience.
    • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
    • Valid driver’s licence.
    • Willingness to travel extensively.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and mobile sales technology.
