    The Retail Associate is responsible for supporting daily store operations while delivering excellent customer service. The role involves assisting customers, handling sales transactions, managing stock, and ensuring the store environment is clean, organised, and welcoming.

     Job Description

    The Retail Associate works on the shop floor assisting customers with their purchases and providing product information. The role includes operating tills and payment systems, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring shelves are properly stocked and organised.

    The position also involves basic administrative duties, such as stock control and record-keeping. The Retail Associate must maintain a positive attitude, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to the overall success of the store.

     Key Responsibilities

     Customer Service

    • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
    • Provide product information and recommendations
    • Ensure a positive shopping experience

     Sales & Transactions

    • Operate tills, scanners, and card machines
    • Process cash and card payments accurately
    • Handle customer queries and resolve issues

     Stock Control

    • Receive, unpack, and display stock
    • Monitor stock levels and report shortages
    • Assist with stocktaking and inventory control

     Store Maintenance

    • Keep the store clean, neat, and organised
    • Ensure shelves are properly stocked and labelled

     Administration

    • Perform basic administrative tasks
    • Assist with record keeping and store documentation

     Requirements

     Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12 (Matric)

     Skills & Competencies

    • Basic maths skills
    • Computer literacy
    • Good communication skills
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Ability to work in a team
    • Time management and attention to detail

     Advantage

    • Experience with tills or retail systems
    • Stock control experience
    • Previous retail or customer service experience
