    Job Overview

    Eduvos is seeking to appoint two PHP Developers / LMS Systems Engineers to support the design, development, maintenance, and optimisation of its Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS). The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the LMS remains secure, highly available, and scalable while supporting the institution’s digital learning strategy. This role combines software development, systems engineering, cloud infrastructure management, and technical support.

    Key Responsibilities

    LMS Development and Systems Engineering

    • Design, develop, maintain, and support the Moodle Learning Management System.
    • Install, configure, customise, and administer Moodle LMS environments.
    • Ensure high system availability, performance, and security.
    • Monitor system health and resolve technical issues proactively.
    • Optimise LMS performance and reliability.

    Cloud Infrastructure Management

    • Deploy and manage Moodle environments on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
    • Work with AWS services, including:
      • EC2
      • RDS
      • S3
      • CloudFront
    • Apply cloud infrastructure best practices to improve scalability and security.

    Software Development

    • Develop and maintain applications using PHP, JavaScript, and related technologies.
    • Manage Moodle databases using MySQL or other relational database systems.
    • Develop custom Moodle functionality where required.
    • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using Agile and DevOps practices.

    Collaboration and Support

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative digital learning solutions.
    • Provide technical support and user assistance.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the LMS environment.
    • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

    Experience

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in application development using PHP, JavaScript, and related technologies.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience administering and supporting Moodle Learning Management Systems.
    • Proven experience deploying and managing Moodle on AWS.
    • Experience with educational technology, instructional design, or e-learning development will be advantageous.

    Technical Skills

    • Advanced PHP development.
