Role Overview
Orchard Agri is seeking a Junior Diesel Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of a wide range of agricultural machinery and motorbikes. The successful candidate will work on tractors, sprayers, harvesters, bikes, and other specialized farm equipment. This is a hands-on technical role with both workshop and fieldwork responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance & Repairs
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Perform routine maintenance (e.g., oil changes, filter replacement)
Ensure all work aligns with OEM standards
2. Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
Use diagnostic tools/software to identify faults
Troubleshoot complex mechanical/electrical problems
Test and verify equipment functionality after repairs
3. Workshop Operations
Maintain a clean and safe workspace
Ensure tools and equipment are functional and properly stored
Assist in inventory control and parts management
4. Customer Interaction
Communicate with customers to assess equipment problems
Provide technical advice on care and preventative maintenance
Maintain professionalism and customer satisfaction
5. Documentation & Reporting
Keep detailed service records, parts usage, and labor hours
Submit service reports and highlight recurring issues
Ideal Candidate Profile
Skills Required
Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
Proficient with diagnostic software
Physically fit and able to work outdoors and lift heavy parts
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2 years experience as a diesel mechanic (agriculture or similar)
Red Seal Qualification in Diesel Mechanics, Agricultural Mechanics, or similar
Familiarity with various agricultural equipment brands & models
Driver’s license (essential)
Willing to travel to farms and customer sites as needed
Remuneration
