Position Purpose
The General Worker supports the daily operations of the mechanisation department by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with stock handling, supporting technicians and operators, and ensuring that equipment, tools, and work areas are kept in good condition. The role contributes to the smooth and efficient functioning of the branch.
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance and Housekeeping
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the workplace.
- Perform general housekeeping duties throughout the premises.
- Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and organised.
- Assist in maintaining equipment and operational areas.
Loading and Offloading
- Assist customers and suppliers with loading and offloading stock.
- Follow company policies and procedures when handling stock.
- Support efficient movement of goods within the branch.
Operational Support
- Assist technicians and operators with general tasks.
- Support repairs, cleaning, and maintenance activities.
- Carry out manual labour as required.
- Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors from time to time.
Stock Control
- Assist with stock handling and inventory-related activities.
- Ensure stock is stored and managed correctly.
- Support stock control processes within the branch.
Customer Service
- Assist customers professionally and courteously.
- Provide support to customers visiting the branch.
- Contribute to positive customer experiences.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric or NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Ability to perform physically demanding manual labour.
- Willingness to contribute positively to branch operations.
- Ability to work in an agricultural and mechanisation environment.
