Job Description
The General Worker is responsible for performing general operational and housekeeping duties within the retail branch. The role involves maintaining cleanliness, assisting with stock handling, supporting customers and suppliers, and ensuring the premises remain organized and functional. The position requires minimal induction and a willingness to perform physically demanding tasks.
Key Responsibilities
General Housekeeping
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the premises.
- Perform routine cleaning duties.
- Ensure work areas are neat, safe, and organized.
Stock Handling
- Assist with loading and offloading stock.
- Support stock control activities as required.
- Help customers and suppliers with the movement of goods according to company procedures.
Customer Service
- Provide assistance to customers in a professional and helpful manner.
- Support daily retail operations to ensure a positive customer experience.
Operational Support
- Carry out ad hoc duties assigned by supervisors.
- Contribute to the efficient functioning of the retail branch.
- Continuously add value to the overall operations of the business.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) or NQF Level 4.
Experience and Abilities
- Ability to load and offload stock.
- Ability to perform hard manual labour.
- Good physical health and stamina.
