    JOB OVERVIEW

    • Job Title: Director: Thabo Mofutsanyana District

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and coordinate all agricultural and administrative functions in the Thabo Mofutsanyana District.

    • Oversee Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services, Soil Conservation, Food Security Programs, Economic and Engineering Services, and Administrative Support.

    • Manage district-specific agricultural projects and support engineering interventions.

    • Drive the development and implementation of the district’s operational plan aligned with the department’s 5-year Strategic Plan.

    • Monitor progress and report on district achievements aligned with national and provincial development agendas.

    • Contribute to the development and enforcement of departmental policies.

    • Collaborate with the Veterinary Services Directorate to ensure effective veterinary services in the district.

    • Manage financial, human, and physical resources efficiently, ensuring compliance with supply chain and legislative regulations.

    • Implement integrity measures to prevent unauthorized, irregular, or wasteful expenditures.

    Qualifications:

    • NQF Level 7 qualification in Agriculture (or equivalent).

    • At least 5 years of experience at the Deputy Director or senior management level within agricultural extension or a related environment.

    • Valid Code B driver’s license.

    • Completion of the Nyukela SMS Pre-entry Certificate (required before appointment).
