    Job Description

    The Contracts Manager at NCRS (Pty) Ltd will play a key role in the successful execution of construction and renewable energy (PV) projects by managing all aspects of contractual and commercial risk. This position requires in-depth knowledge of contract frameworks such as FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, and bespoke EPC agreements, and experience in large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy environments.

    You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and managing claims or disputes. You’ll also collaborate closely with project teams, procurement, and external stakeholders to ensure contract deliverables are aligned with project timelines and objectives.

    Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are essential, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities

    Contract Administration & Risk Management

    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.

    • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.

    • Identify and manage contractual risks throughout project lifecycles.

    • Handle claims, variations, and dispute resolution processes.

    • Maintain complete and accurate contractual documentation and correspondence.

    Project & Commercial Oversight

    • Collaborate with project managers to ensure alignment of contract terms with project execution.

    • Monitor contract performance to ensure deliverables are achieved on time, within scope and budget.

    • Support procurement and tender processes including bid evaluation and contract recommendations.

    • Contribute strategic input into contract structuring for new PV (photovoltaic) energy projects.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Act as the key contact for all contractual matters with clients, legal counsel, and internal teams.

    • Facilitate cross-functional communication across commercial, legal, and technical departments.

    • Conduct contract briefings and provide training to project and site teams.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, Engineering, or related field.

    • At least 7 years’ experience in contract management within construction or renewable energy projects.

    • In-depth knowledge of contract frameworks: FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, or bespoke EPC agreements.

    • Proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure or PV (solar energy) projects.

    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

    • Proficient in contract management tools and MS Office.

    Preferred/Advantageous:

    • Additional qualifications such as LLB, MBA, or RICS certification.

    • Familiarity with South African construction laws and renewable energy regulatory environment.
