    Job Overview:


    Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for Casual Cashiers to join their team at Goldfields Mall in Welkom. This role supports point-of-sale operations to deliver world-class customer service while maintaining accuracy and reducing fraud risk. Ideal candidates will have prior till experience and the ability to work flexible retail hours.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist customers at point of sale, ensuring exceptional service

    • Process purchases, refunds, and returns according to standard procedures

    • Handle payments via cash, cards, vouchers, and loyalty programs

    • Maintain accuracy in till operations and follow security protocols

    • Report customer compliments and complaints to supervisors

    • Promote store sales and current promotions

    • Manage cash flow and ensure secure handling of money

    • Monitor and report suspicious behaviour

    • Follow Dis-Chem’s customer service and communication policies

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 / Matric

    • Minimum of 6 months’ experience as a cashier

    • Computer literate, especially MS Office

    • Basic customer service training

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)

    • Numerical accuracy and attention to detail

    • Presentable and professional

    • Trustworthy and honest

    • Time management and problem-solving

    • Knowledge of processing sales, refunds, and payments

    • Emotional intelligence and accountability

    Advantageous:

    • Knowledge of a third South African language

    Special Conditions:

    • Must be willing and able to work retail hours

    • Must have reliable transport or live close to the store

    • South African citizenship required

    • Clear credit and criminal record
