- As a Cashier, you’ll be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing all cash and card transactions while ensuring customers feel welcome and valued.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately process customer purchases and issue receipts.
Operate scanners, scales, cash registers, and other electronic equipment.
Maintain accurate transaction records and reports.
Welcome customers, assist with locating products, and provide product advice or recommendations.
Handle customer complaints efficiently and professionally.
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
Support team members in a fast-paced retail environment.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- 2–3 years’ experience as a cashier or in a retail/sales environment
- Basic PC and electronic equipment knowledge (cash register, scanners, etc.)
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Customer-service oriented with attention to detail and good math skills
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and work collaboratively in a busy setting
- Sales skills advantageous
