Job Description
National Asphalt is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Buyer to manage the accurate and timely processing of procurement transactions.
The successful candidate will handle purchase requisitions, create and process purchase orders, coordinate with suppliers, receipt goods and services, resolve procurement discrepancies and maintain accurate purchasing documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders accurately and on time.
- Review requisitions to ensure they are complete and accurate.
- Capture purchase orders correctly on the procurement system and issue them to suppliers.
- Follow up with suppliers regarding order confirmations, delivery dates and outstanding orders.
- Monitor open purchase orders and ensure goods and services are received on time.
- Verify goods and services received and process goods receipting on the procurement system.
- Assist with resolving purchase order and delivery discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and internal controls.
- Comply with health and safety requirements.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations and relevant legislation.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12.
- 2–3 years’ experience in one or more of the following:
- Procurement administration
- Purchase order processing
- Creditors administration
- Finance administration
- Similar administrative/procurement roles
- Experience using an ERP or procurement system.
- BuildSmart experience will be advantageous.
- Computer literacy, particularly MS Office and Outlook.
