Job Description
Ackermans is looking for an In-Store Visual Merchandiser to ensure that the store consistently meets visual merchandising standards and delivers an engaging customer experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing visual merchandising activities, maintaining the store image, supporting sales through effective product presentation, communicating VM requirements and training fellow team members on visual standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- At least 2 years’ shop-floor retail experience within a clothing retail environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good time-management abilities.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Thorough understanding of Visual Merchandising (VM) specifications.
- A strong flair and interest in visual merchandising.
Key Responsibilities
Store Image
- Implement required visual merchandising activities within specified periods.
- Maintain consistent VM standards to enhance the customer experience.
- Conduct weekly evaluations of the store image and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Make effective use of all available VM resources.
- Ensure VM assets, equipment and point-of-sale materials are properly maintained and managed.
Turnover & Expense Management
- Monitor daily stock replenishment.
- Identify missed sales opportunities and communicate them to the Store Manager.
- Ensure all VM instructions and requirements are implemented accurately and on time.
- Support effective product presentation to contribute to store turnover.
Communication & Feedback
- Communicate store guidelines through VM resources to all store employees.
- Monitor weekly and monthly VM instructions and communicate them to relevant team members.
- Maintain and file VM checklists for future reference.
- Communicate orders to Store Management/DSM and follow up where necessary.
Customer Relationships
- Assist the Store Manager in resolving VM-related customer complaints and queries.
- Promote better understanding of VM principles and product knowledge among fellow employees.
- Support strong working relationships within the store team.
- Help ensure that VM standards are followed during new store openings.
Training & Development
- Ensure TMTs relating to VM principles are conducted and communicated with the Store Manager.
- Initiate on-the-job training for fellow employees on visual merchandising standards.
- Participate in SBU workshops.
- Apply knowledge gained from workshops to improve VM standards and store performance.
