About the Role
Bargain Books, South Africa’s award-winning national bookstore chain (84 stores nationwide, voted Best Bookseller six years running), is looking for passionate, customer-focused Booksellers to join the team in Welkom.
This position is ideal for someone who loves reading, enjoys engaging with people, and wants to work in a lively, learning-driven retail environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide excellent sales and customer service to book lovers.

Help customers find and recommend books suited to their interests.

Manage store presentation — including shelving, categorizing, and merchandising books.

Operate the Papyrus point-of-sale system.

Maintain store security and assist with loss prevention.

Participate in upselling and cross-selling to meet sales targets.
Requirements

Matric (Grade 12) — essential

Retail experience — preferably in a bookstore or customer service environment

Passion for books, reading, and people

Strong communication and sales skills

Must be available immediately
