Salary Range: R 400,000 – R 580,000 per year (depending on experience)
Work Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday, aligned with UK time zones (9:00–17:30, including daylight savings adjustments)

Job Overview
The Automation Specialist at SmartPA designs and implements smart automation tools to simplify workflows, reduce inefficiencies, and help teams focus on high-value work. This role works closely with a global tech client and internal teams to build scalable, human-centred automation solutions that enhance productivity, improve processes, and drive measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities
Build and roll out automation tools and frameworks that improve everyday business operations.
Identify opportunities for automation and lead initiatives from concept to implementation.
Create scalable solutions that can be used across different business areas.
Help stakeholders rethink processes, leveraging automation to make operations smarter and faster.
Manage projects end-to-end, demonstrating the impact and value of implemented solutions.
Present insights through data, visuals, and recommendations in a compelling manner.
Support major technology breakthroughs, enhance user experiences, and improve team productivity.

Required Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
4–6 years in a technology environment, covering full-stack development and end-to-end application lifecycle (design, build, deploy, maintain).
2+ years programming in languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java, with experience in frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) and backend platforms (Node.js, Java, Python).
Solid SQL knowledge, including data modelling, query writing, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and process improvement techniques (Lean, Six Sigma).
Strong analytical skills to translate business operations into technical solutions with measurable results.
Desirable:
Experience automating workflows and business tools within Google Workspace and Cloud.
Knowledge of databases, REST APIs, system integration, networking, and cloud environments.
Experience managing runtime environments and supporting production applications.
Proven track record in creating performance dashboards and identifying data-driven opportunities.
