    Role Purpose

    To drive income growth and customer acquisition by identifying, engaging, and onboarding high-value business clients who are not currently banked with Absa. The role includes market research, relationship management, and compliance, and requires strategic engagement with potential clients to deliver tailored banking solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

     Income Growth & Customer Acquisition

    • Generate business income in line with agreed targets.

    • Identify and research potential new clients.

    • Build and maintain a target list of high-value prospects.

    • Drive client switching from competitor banks to Absa.

    • Leverage referral networks and lead generation to support acquisition.

     Market Intelligence

    • Monitor market trends and client lifecycle developments.

    • Understand client challenges and business opportunities.

    • Stay updated on competitor offerings (products, pricing, services).

    • Use insights to shape Absa’s value proposition to potential clients.

     Risk & Compliance

    • Apply and adhere to all governance and compliance procedures.

    • Remain current on all regulatory and legal frameworks, including:

      • FAIS

      • FICA

      • NCA

      • CPA

    • Complete ongoing compliance training as required.

     Relationship Management

    • Prepare for client engagements through pre-call planning.

    • Identify client needs and present tailored Business Banking CVP.

    • Involve product partners (e.g., lending, cashflow, asset finance) where necessary.

    • Build and nurture long-term client relationships post-onboarding.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in:

      • Business

      • Commerce

      • Management Studies

    Experience

    • Proven track record in client acquisition, relationship management, or business banking preferred.

    • Knowledge of the South African banking and financial services landscape.
