Job Overview
The Store Manager will be responsible for leading the store team and ensuring that key business objectives and performance indicators are achieved.
The role focuses on driving sales, delivering excellent customer service, controlling costs, minimising stock loss, maintaining accurate administration and ensuring world-class store standards.
The successful candidate will also lead, train, coach and develop the store team while ensuring that health, safety and housekeeping standards are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Customer Service
- Drive sales by focusing on exceptional customer service.
- Maintain world-class store standards and presentation.
- Ensure the store image is consistently maintained.
- Manage stock effectively.
- Ensure promotional activities are implemented correctly.
Stock Loss and Risk Management
- Minimise stock losses by promoting a healthy store culture.
- Ensure security measures are followed.
- Monitor compliance with stock and cash-handling procedures.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks within the store.
Cost Management
- Manage store costs in line with PEP’s low-cost culture.
- Identify and drive operational efficiencies.
- Ensure resources are used effectively.
Administration
- Ensure all store administrative duties are completed according to company guidelines.
- Maintain accurate store records and documentation.
- Ensure operational procedures are consistently followed.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and motivate a dynamic team of Dynamos.
- Take responsibility for team training and development.
- Coach employees to improve performance.
- Monitor and manage team performance.
- Promote teamwork and accountability.
Health, Safety and Store Standards
- Maintain general health and safety standards.
- Ensure high housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Ensure the store consistently meets required operational and presentation standards.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12.
- Proficiency in English.
- A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a degree or diploma in business or retail, will be an advantage.
- Ideally 1–2 years’ experience in a retail environment in a leadership role.
- Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft and/or Google G Suite, will be an advantage.
