Job Description
This is a senior retail leadership role responsible for the full management of a showroom.
You will be accountable for:
- Driving sales and profitability
- Managing staff and operations
- Ensuring excellent customer experience
- Controlling stock, expenses, and compliance
In short: You run the store like your own business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Commercial Performance
- Drive sales against targets and budgets
- Monitor team and individual performance (daily/weekly/monthly)
- Improve:
- Conversion rates
- Upselling & cross-selling
- Average basket value
- Manage new accounts and customer spend
- Execute promotions and campaigns
2. Customer Experience
- Deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience
- Educate customers on products, promotions, and processes
- Handle escalations professionally
- Ensure strong presence on the sales floor
3. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and inspire the team
- Set clear targets and expectations
- Manage:
- Attendance
- Scheduling
- Performance
- Provide coaching, feedback, and development
- Recognise and address performance
4. Training & Development
- Ensure staff onboarding and training completion
- Support ongoing training programmes
- Identify and close skills gaps
- Track training progress and compliance
5. Operational Excellence
- Maintain high store standards (visual merchandising & cleanliness)
- Conduct daily store checks
- Address risks and compliance issues
- Implement action plans from audits and reviews
6. Financial Management
- Control store expenses within budget
- Manage cash handling and reconciliations
- Investigate discrepancies and variances
7. Stock Management
- Oversee stock receiving, storage, and movement
- Prevent stock loss and damage
- Manage stock takes and shrinkage
- Track ageing and obsolete stock
8. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Ensure staff compliance with systems and training
- Act ethically and uphold company standards
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Tertiary qualification in Retail, Sales, or Marketing (advantageous)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years retail experience
- Minimum 5 years leadership/management experience
- Proven experience in:
- Sales performance management
- Expense and stock control
- Customer service

- Computer literacy (MS Office & retail systems)
