Job Description
This role supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring that:
- Sales targets are achieved
- Customer service standards are met
- Store processes run efficiently
You will play a key role in driving sales, managing stock, leading staff, and maintaining store performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Stock Management
- Ensure accurate receiving and unpacking of stock
- Replenish sales floor regularly
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or losses
- Maintain stockroom organisation and cleanliness
- Authorise write-offs, returns, and damaged stock
2. Sales Growth & Profitability
- Analyse sales and profitability reports
- Identify opportunities to increase sales
- Support action plans to improve store performance
- Monitor expenses and control costs
- Track product performance and provide feedback
3. Risk & Compliance Management
- Conduct compliance checks
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
- Minimise risks such as stock loss
4. Customer Experience
- Ensure excellent customer service standards
- Implement customer experience strategies
- Maintain a positive in-store experience
5. Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and motivate store team
- Support recruitment and staff management
- Coach and develop employees
- Manage performance and succession planning
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric)
Experience
- 2–3 years’ experience in:
- Supervisory role OR
- Assistant Store Manager role
Skills & Knowledge
- Sales and service management
- Budgeting skills
- Retail industry understanding
- MS Office proficiency
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of customers, products, and brand
