Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to:
- Deliver lectures in advanced networking and cybersecurity modules
- Support academic administration within the IT department
- Develop learning materials and assessments
- Assist with student academic development and success
- Contribute to quality assurance in higher education
Modules to be Lectured
- Advanced Networking
- IoT Wireless Networks
- Network Security
- Cybersecurity Project Module
Main Responsibilities
Lecturing and Teaching
- Deliver lectures on networking and cybersecurity topics.
- Prepare lecture notes, study guides, and additional learning materials.
- Facilitate both theoretical and practical learning sessions.
Assessment and Academic Work
- Set, moderate, and mark assessments and examinations.
- Ensure fair and consistent academic evaluation.
- Maintain academic records and documentation.
Student Support
- Identify and support at-risk students.
- Provide academic guidance and mentorship.
- Encourage student engagement and performance improvement.
Administrative Duties
- Assist with departmental academic administration.
- Participate in curriculum-related activities.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- BSc Honours in:
- Computer Science, or
- Information Technology, or related field
Experience
- 1–2 years lecturing experience (advantageous)
- Understanding of higher education systems and processes
- Research experience (advantageous)
