Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to:
- Provide efficient and friendly customer service
- Process sales transactions accurately at the point of sale
- Promote Clicks products, promotions, and loyalty programmes
- Ensure smooth in-store operations and merchandising standards
Main Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Deliver excellent customer service and act as a brand ambassador.
- Assist customers in-store with product information and queries.
- Promote a positive shopping experience (“feel good and pay less”).
Cashier and POS Operations
- Process sales accurately at the point of sale (POS).
- Handle cash safely and securely at all times.
- Scan merchandise correctly and process payments.
- Ensure accuracy when handling transactions and loyalty rewards.
Sales and Promotion
- Promote Clicks ClubCard and enrol new members.
- Inform customers about promotions and special offers.
- Support sales targets through product awareness and upselling.
Merchandising and Store Support
- Maintain merchandising standards and product displays.
- Assist with stock presentation and replenishment.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the store clean and organised.
Product Knowledge
- Stay updated on product ranges, promotions, and store events.
- Provide accurate product information to customers.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Essential: Grade 12 (Matric)
- Advantageous:
- Mathematics (50% or higher)
- English (50% or higher)
Experience
- Retail or FMCG customer service experience is advantageous
