    Job Purpose

    The Specialist Technician-Service is responsible for performing routine maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The role involves identifying mechanical faults, recommending repair solutions, maintaining accurate service records, and delivering excellent customer service while supporting the smooth operation of the dealership’s service department.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Vehicle Maintenance and Servicing

    • Perform routine maintenance and scheduled vehicle servicing.
    • Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet manufacturer and dealership standards.
    • Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.

    2. Diagnostics and Repairs

    • Diagnose mechanical and technical faults.
    • Troubleshoot equipment and vehicle issues.
    • Identify the root cause of faults.
    • Perform repairs efficiently and accurately.
    • Test repaired vehicles to confirm faults have been resolved.

    3. Technical Support

    • Recommend appropriate repair solutions.
    • Prepare repair estimates where required.
    • Advise on ongoing maintenance requirements.
    • Ensure repairs comply with manufacturer specifications.

    4. Record Keeping

    • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
    • Record work completed on each vehicle.
    • Document repairs and maintenance performed.
    • Ensure service documentation is completed correctly.

    5. Customer Service

    • Communicate with customers regarding:
      • Repair progress.
      • Vehicle condition.
      • Maintenance recommendations.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must have:

    • Qualification as a Qualified Automotive Technician.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a service technician role.
