Job Overview
Rosebank College Bloemfontein is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Law Lecturer to join its academic team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for educating and supporting students, facilitating lectures and tutorials, contributing to teaching and learning development, and assisting with academic research and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lecture and facilitate student support workshops and subject-specific tutorials.
- Prepare and deliver lectures according to the academic timetable.
- Mark and assess student work in the relevant discipline.
- Support the development of teaching and learning standards on campus.
- Assist the Academic Development Coordinator and contract lecturers.
- Communicate and teach academic conventions to students.
- Work with librarians to support information literacy for students and lecturers.
- Coordinate and facilitate lecturer forums and faculty meetings under the guidance of Academic Development Consultants.
- Contribute to research and development activities.
- Provide support to the academic team and students.
Minimum Requirements
- LLM qualification at NQF Level 8.
- 2–3 years’ experience in lecturing or formal tutoring.
Advantageous Experience
- Master of Laws degree (LLM NQF Level 9).
- 1–3 years’ industry-specific experience in the relevant area of specialisation.
Key Competencies
- Knowledge of the South African higher education system and regulatory framework.
- Understanding of teaching and learning theories and interventions.
- Ability to provide student support services.
- Willingness to work with and learn digital academic platforms.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Ability to follow rules and work regulations.
