Job Overview
Rosebank College Bloemfontein is seeking a Programme Coordinator – Foundation Phase to deliver quality teaching and academic support to students.
The successful candidate will lecture allocated modules, prepare students for assessments, monitor student performance and engagement, support at-risk students, manage academic resources and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures and engage students according to module requirements and pacers.
- Manage academic resources and liaise with the Information Centre.
- Update the Learning Management System and provide feedback to students.
- Prepare students for assessments and identify at-risk students.
- Develop assessments in line with Central Academic Team requirements.
- Monitor student engagement and assessment submissions.
- Escalate student concerns and academic risks where necessary.
- Attend and participate in academic meetings.
- Support part-time lecturers with faculty requirements.
- Review and analyse student module results.
- Support the Programme Coordinator with results analysis and tracking.
- Identify modules that may be at risk.
- Develop teaching and learning materials aligned with module outcomes.
- Assist with student registration and orientation.
- Conduct scholarly disciplinary-based or Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) research, or complete academic professional development interventions.
- Contribute to the improvement of teaching and learning practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Education Honours degree or Master’s degree in Foundation Phase Teaching.
- 2–3 years’ experience in lecturing or formal tutoring.
