    Job Description

    A Donor Recruiter at South African National Blood Service is responsible for recruiting, educating, and supporting blood donors to help ensure a safe and sustainable blood supply. The role involves community engagement, customer service, donor education, and support during blood donation drives.

    The Donor Recruiter works closely with clinic supervisors, donor relations practitioners, and marketing teams to meet blood collection targets while ensuring donors have a positive donation experience.

    Main Responsibilities

    Donor Recruitment & Customer Service

    • Recruit and educate blood donors during blood drives.
    • Welcome donors professionally and ensure they feel comfortable.
    • Explain donation procedures and provide donor information pamphlets.
    • Answer donor queries and refer medical questions to the Clinic Supervisor.
    • Promote donor campaigns and encourage participation.

    Blood Drive Support

    • Deliver and display marketing materials such as:
      • Flyers
      • Posters
      • Banners
      • Directional signage
    • Confirm arrangements with blood drive coordinators before events.
    • Help organize suitable venues for blood drives.
    • Assist with setting up and packing up blood drive venues.

    Marketing & Public Relations

    • Support donor marketing events, exhibitions, promotions, and media launches.
    • Participate in pilot studies and donor awareness initiatives.
    • Provide feedback on donor education needs and campaign effectiveness.

    Reporting & Administration

    • Submit weekly donor recruitment reports.
    • Keep personnel and training records updated.
    • Attend meetings and training sessions.
    • Ensure compliance with company procedures and SOPs.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • Marketing/Public Relations Certificate (minimum 6 months)
    • Valid Code B Manual Driver’s Licence
